If you are having a sit-down dinner, should you offer your guests different food options?  Keeping your menu to one entrée is fine but you most definitely should offer a vegetarian meal.

It’s amazing actually how many of your guests have opted to eliminate meat from their diets and you should accommodate their desires. 

If you don’t offer a vegetarian meal, you are actually throwing some money out the door, as your vegetarian guests are not going to eat that huge slice of roast beef on their plate. 

It’s very simple to accommodate your vegetarian guests.  When asking for a reply, add a section for them to indicate their preference for a vegetarian meal.  Once you receive your replies, inform your caterer of your seating plans and which guests have a vegetarian preference.  The rest is up to them. 

What about if you are vegetarian?  Should you just offer a vegetarian meal?  Yes!  Since it’s your wedding, your preferences should dictate and there are tons of fabulous vegetarian meal options. 

Try to stay with foods that people are familiar with.  I like to think that I am adventurous in cuisine; however, my sister-in-law (who is vegetarian) has still not been able to convince me on trying a tofu burger.  I have nothing against tofu but I don’t think I am alone on that verdict.

Try serving your guests some fabulous Italian cuisine such as Gorgonzola Pasta Sauce with Asparagus and Walnuts or Wild Mushroom Ravioli. 

Talk to your caterer about the options they have available.  They are sure to come up with a meal that won’t make your guests feel cheated from not eating a typical roast beef dinner.  And who knows, you might just change some people’s minds about their meat eating ways.
